The Journey of a Woven Bowl | Handmade in Rwanda
Before a woven bowl reaches your home, there is a much bigger story behind it. Join Bona in Rwanda as he walks us through the journey of our handwoven bowls — from sisal plants growing in the fields to artisans carefully weaving each piece by hand. Along the way, you’ll see how sisal is stripped into thread, naturally dried, dyed, woven, and quality checked before becoming a finished bowl. Each bowl is handcrafted from natural sisal fibers woven over locally gathered grasses by artisan partners in Rwanda. Some tea-colored fibers are even dyed using Rwandan-grown tea leaves.
