Big Steam! Garratt 6029 Bathurst to Orange - Monday June 10th 2024

The largest operating steam locomotive in the Southern Hemisphere - AD60 Class Garratt No. 6029 visited Bathurst on the June Long Weekend in June 2024. 6029, with 4501 at the tail, ran regular shuttle trips from Bathurst to Wimbledon and return on the Saturday and Sunday, with a day trip to Orange and return on the Monday. In this video, we start by filming the big Garratt ascending Tumulla Bank and at various locations between Bathurst and Orange. The weather started out partly cloudy, but had turned to gloomy skies and persistent rain by the time we reached Orange. This production was filmed with multiple cameras and drones.
