MT. WASHINGTON
Sometimes I go exploring and I'm not sure how steep the roads will be. This time, I knew exactly what was coming! That's because we head to Mt. Washington where the third steepest street in the nation and the steepest street in California, Eldred Street, is located. Eldred Street was constructed in 1912 before any regulations were in place for how steep streets could be, and it remains inhabited today, with houses all along its 33.3% grade. Eldred Street isn't the only sight to behold in Mt. Washington, as after that we hit up a fantastic cafe, see a historic stone house, the Lummis House, built in the 1890s, and then climb through the hills to the top of Mt. Washington for some spectacular views. A steep price to pay, but well worth it! Strava route: / strava Music: NastelBom, "Fashion House" Lumen Coffee: https://www.yelp.com/biz/lumen-coffee...
