ケヤキ その1

This time, we're introducing Zelkova wood. Zelkova is currently a very popular material in the world of wooden pens. One reason for its popularity is that the chairman of Nohara Kogeisha, a legendary figure in the craft, has been promoting the appeal of Zelkova for over 25 years. Furthermore, its appeal has become even more widely known thanks to many fans, YouTubers, and influencers. At Koubou Kusabi, we try to use Zelkova with interesting grain patterns, but we also actively create pens with "plain grain" – wood without prominent patterns. Even within Zelkova, there are many different expressions, so we hope you can find a pen that you like. Actually, I have an allergy to Zelkova, and if possible, I'd prefer not to touch it. However, Zelkova is one of Japan's representative trees, and many grow into large trees, making it abundant. Therefore, there are many trees with prominent grain patterns, and many opportunities to encounter attractive material. From among them, I intend to carefully select pieces with particularly beautiful grain patterns and fine wood textures, and then meticulously craft each one into a work of art. I will continue to introduce various types of zelkova wood, so please look forward to it.
