I visited the “Tsuchisawa Festival,” an autumn festival in the Tsuchisawa district of Towa Town, Hanamaki City, Iwate Prefecture, which has continued since 1711. The festival is held for three days, including Yoimiya, and this was the first day of the main festival. Unfortunately, it was raining, so I could not see the “Gongen Dance,” “Shika Odori Group Dance,” and “float parade,” which were scheduled to be performed at the festival site, but I was able to see the floats in operation. We were able to enjoy the floats that lit up the city and the memorable “Tsuchizawa music” with its memorable bowl handling.
