UT ASR - Bánh Trôi Nước Traditional Dance | Origins Showcase

Hoàng Thùy Linh - Bánh Trôi Nước (Woman) | UT ALPHA SIGMA RHO. A huge appreciation for Aimy Seraphina Tu, Yuri Intrépide* Kim, Quynh Young Daze Tran, and Jenny Astéria Dang for their graceful Vietnamese traditional dance performance and honorably won First Place at Origins Cultural Showcase 2017. The song they danced to was based on a Vietnamese four-line poem talking about the dignity of Vietnamese women. The poet used a type of Vietnamese dessert as a metaphor to convey that no matter how difficult life can become, and how poorly other people could treat them, the Vietnamese women still lived on while maintaining their integrity, dignity, and magnanimity in life. Thank you again for introducing Vietnamese cultures to us through such a wonderful performance with a beautiful message! Shoutout to Austin Akdphi & UT CSA for hosting such an amazing event, where we have the opportunity to showcase our cultures and embrace our roots.
