I need to soak up the Winter sun and get my Vitamin D fix. Fuerteventura (formerly called ‘Maxorata’) is one of the Spain’s Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean. This volcanic island is the second largest island, after Tenerife, and the oldest of the Canary Islands. The capital of the island is Puerto del Rosario. Fuerteventura International Airport, located on the south of the island, very close to its capital Puerto del Rosario. The airport is also known as El Matorral International airport because it is located in the town of El Matorral. I took the airport bus to Puerto del Rosario, the capital of the island. Then, took another bus from there to Corralejo, located in the north of the island. I stayed at the Hotel Apartments Hesperia Bristol Playa (Apartmentos Hesperia Bristol Playa), located on Calle Lago de Bristol in the north of the town centre of Corralejo, a picturesque small harbour town located in the north of Fuerteventura. Hotel Apartments Hesperia Bristol Playa is a 3-star accommodation that offers 24hr reception, free WiFi, outdoor pool, terrace, gym, pool and bar, among others.
