The Kente Weaver Reprise

The Reprise take — a master weaver at his wooden strip loom at golden hour, shuttle mid-flight between the warp threads, finished strips coiled beside him in warm workshop light. In Bonwire, Ghana, master weavers guide a shuttle through silk and cotton threads on narrow strip looms, building the brilliant gold, green, red and black patterns of kente cloth strip by strip — mathematics passed down as heritage and worn with pride. A rhythmic, warm tenor saxophone echoes that steady craft, with a seprewa harp figure drifting through before the sax leads on toward a masterful, golden-cloth finale.
