Willkommen in CHELONIA - Deutschlands größtem Schildkrötenrefugium!

Due to the steadily increasing number of requests to take in land and water turtles, the Munich Reptile Rescue Center (Auffangstation für Reptilien, München e.V.) had been searching for a permanent and species-appropriate solution for its numerous animals. In 2014, their efforts finally paid off: In a disused nursery, the non-profit organization created a paradise for turtles. Thanks to donations and the help of numerous volunteers, around 500 animals already live there in spacious ponds and Mediterranean-style outdoor enclosures. While the final construction work is still underway, we would like to give you a first glimpse. And last but not least: Credit where credit is due.
