2014 To 2018 Infinity QX80 Rear Air Suspension Conversion Kit Installation By Strutmasters

This video covers the installation of a Strutmasters rear suspension conversion kit (item QX1RB) on 2014 to 2018 model years of the Infiniti QX80 and 2012 and 2013 QX56 vehicles, equipped with factory air shocks. 🔎 Shop current kits: https://www.strutmasters.com/suspensi... IMPORTANT: Infiniti made some QX 80 vehicles and some QX 56 vehicles with an active hydraulic rear shock system. The Strutmasters product works for 2012 models and newer QX 80 and QX56 models with AIR SHOCKS ONLY. Please make sure which system your vehicle has before you place an order. Call the Suspension Experts at 866-597-2397 if you own a 2011 QX56 or have any questions about which system your vehicle may have. ALSO: There may have been changes to the installation instructions since this video was made. Please FOLLOW THE PAPER INSTRUCTIONS that come with your Strutmasters product for the latest and best installation procedure. Is your QX 80 sitting a little low or riding rough? Can you hear the onboard air suspension compressor running a lot? With tens of thousands of miles and normal wear and tear, the air compressor can no longer make enough air to keep up with demand. The compressor may still run, but it can no longer do its job. You have killed it. From our years of experience, it is not wise to buy new air shocks and expect that poor little compressor to be just fine. The air compressors included in most factory air systems are much smaller than the ones used on a shop air compressor and they are not meant to run very long. They make compressed air when a tiny piston forces air through a metal cylinder. The compressed air is used to fill up rubber bladders (air spring or air bags) that take the place of a traditional steel coil springs or a set of shocks with a rubber bladder on top. When the rubber components in the air springs (bags) or air shocks age and wear out, they develop tiny cracks begin to leak air from the system. The air leaks cause the tiny compressor to run way more than it was designed. The extra hours cause an o-ring on the compressor's piston to get damaged from getting too hot. The o-ring, often made of a rubberized polymer like Fluon, hardens and loses its seal inside the metal cylinder. Many compressors will be completely overheated killed and stop running altogether. It is the ones that still run that can fool a consumer or a technician less experienced with air systems. BOTTOM LINE: The piston is still going up and down inside the air compressor, but it no longer has a tight seal and makes little to no compressed air at all. Yes, you can hear the compressor running, BUT IT CAN NO LONGER MAKE ENOUGH AIR TO KEEP UP. At Strutmasters, 97% of our customers choose to convert away from the air suspension. This means not having to worry about an air compressor at all. The rationale is no more chasing a variety of expensive components that rely on electronics to work. Our passive suspension conversion kits just bolt right in place of the factory components. Fix It Once, Fix It Right. We have been dealing with automotive air suspension since 1999. In fact, our entire company was founded when Chip Lofton had the air suspension fail on his personal car right in the middle of his first family vacation in years. Strutmasters understands an air suspension failure may have caught you at a bad time, too. And it is normal to look for a little hope regarding the situation -- like hoping a running compressor will be okay. In our view, if you are going to stick with the air ride, then buy a new compressor at the same time you replace ALL of the major components (air springs and/or air shocks). Our suspension conversion kits are almost always less expensive than buying all of the major components you need to properly fix the factory suspension -- even if you buy imitation or knockoff brands. That is a major reason why 97% of our customers go with a Strutmasters conversion kit. Getting the correct conversion kit for the QX 80 or QX 56 can be tricky. Again, some models were made with an active hydraulic rear shock system and our kit WON'T work on those! Please jot down your vehicle ID number (VIN) and snap of one of your rear shocks, then give us a call at 866-597-2397. Our suspension experts are standing by to discuss a solution to your suspension problems and make sure you get the correct product. #InfinityQX80 #AirSuspension #ConversionKit #Front #Rear #AirShocks Go To https://www.strutmasters.com/video-li... to see all our videos and to view our products!
