Readings: Acts 10:34–35, 42–48a // Ephesians 4:1b–6 // John 15:26 – 16:3, 12–15 Whoever prays THIS, the Holy Spirit teaches them to SEE with God's EYES: Come down, O Holy Spirit, who tears apart the dark night, shine light into this world. Come, who loves all the poor, come, who gives good gifts, come, who enlightens every heart. Highest comforter in times of trouble, guest who gladdens heart and mind, precious refreshment in distress, In restlessness you grant peace, breathe coolness in heat, bestow comfort in sorrow and death. Come, O Holy Spirit, who tears apart the dark night, who gives comfort in sorrow and death. Come, O blessed Light, fill heart and face, penetrate to the very depths of the soul. Without your living breath, nothing in humankind can exist, nothing can be whole or healthy. What is defiled, wash clean, to what is parched, heal where sickness torments. Warm what is cold and hard, loosen what is frozen within, guide what has lost its way. Give to the people who trust in you, who rely on your help, your gifts as their guide. Let them endure through time, see the fulfillment of your salvation, and the eternity of joy.
