For a few weeks now, the new (okay, modernized) Arriva trains for the regional railway lines in the provinces of Friesland and Groningen have been slowly running their rounds, especially on the lines from Leeuwarden to Harlingen Haven and Sneek/Stavoren. Ultimately, all 50 current red local trains in the area will be renovated before the new concession begins in 2021. The trains are equipped with power outlets and USB ports, folding tables, large tables, a locked quiet compartment, and an AED, thus meeting the latest passenger needs.
