Podcast: From Terror Attack To Changing Lives | Darryn Frost & Ben Hellon On Second Chances

What does it really take to rebuild a life? In this episode, Alex sits down with Darryn Frost and Ben Hellon for a powerful conversation about trauma, second chances, rehabilitation and the role routine, structure and fitness can play in changing a person’s future. Darryn Frost became known around the world after helping stop the 2019 London Bridge terrorist attack using a narwhal tusk. But what followed afterwards changed his life in a very different way. Instead of turning away from pain and anger, Darryn founded Own Merit, an organisation helping former prisoners rebuild their lives after release. One of those people was Ben Hellon. After serving time for drug-related offences, Ben was released from prison with nowhere to go. Through Own Merit, he found support, stability and a new direction. Since then, he has qualified as a personal trainer and fitness instructor and now helps others trying to rebuild their own lives. This is an honest conversation about responsibility, routine, mental resilience and what real change actually looks like behind the headlines.
