Alla Porta dell'amicizia tra Afghanistan e Pakistan, Tonacci: "Chiusa la via di fuga per gli hazara"

Families, elderly people, children. Thousands. Every day. All lined up, exhausted. They try to cross the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan at the Friendship Gate, the most important exit route for those fleeing the Taliban. Between August 17 and 28, crossings exploded from 6,000 to 18,000, most of them ethnic Hazaras, Shiites persecuted by the Taliban. The Islamabad government, however, has closed the gates. Only Pakistanis and residents of Kandahar province are allowed to pass. By correspondent in Islamabad Fabio Tonacci. Editing by Maria Grazia Morrone
