Benson Amps Tall Bird Plus Spring Reverb and Tremolo

Back in 2023, Benson Amps was approached by none other than The Beach Boys to design a reverb-tremolo unit worthy of their legacy. The result was the Surf’s Up—a nod to the classic Fender circuits, but with modern upgrades and a whole lot of Benson flavor. Rather than tweaking old schematics, Chris Benson tossed the Fender blueprints entirely and set out to reimagine how he would build the ultimate reverb-tremolo circuit from the ground up. The goal: capture those timeless tones with greater versatility, lower noise, and something extra—both regular and harmonic tremolo in a single box. After rounds of experimentation and refinement, the final design was born.
