What If The Father Brought Yoda to Mortis

Yoda stares at the c before him, rubbing his eyes as exhaustion threatens to take hold of him. He does not rest, though, and instead continues to pursue the various star systems that make up the galaxy. Many had already been working here before him, searching for signs of the CIS forces and potential weaknesses in the Republic’s defensive lines. But that is not what Master Yoda is looking at now. Instead, his attention is focused on the opposite, worlds untouched by the war, untouched by the industrialization and chaos this conflict has brought. He looks for those most pure and untouched, the worlds in which he might be able to learn more about the Force. Since his journey to Moriban and learning that Qui-Gon is alive, Yoda has realized just how little he and the other Jedi know about the Force. If he is to ensure the survival of the Light side, he must continue to develop his knowledge. The only problem is, he must find a suitable place for it. Though Coruscant has been the Jedi’s home for many years, he comes to realize he has outgrown it. The planet is too urban, too industrialized. It is less a world and more a massive space station. While he can still feel the Force here, its scent no longer feels the same. It is diluted and clouded. What he needs is somewhere quiet and peaceful. He scans the systems once again, already finding a few places where this might work. Degobah, Maridun, perhaps even Kashyyyk. As he weighs these options, he barely hears the laughter behind him. Yoda whirls around and sees a man looking over at him. He is humanoid with a long white beard and grey skin. He has a wizened appearance and an air of serenity about him that would make him seem no different than any other Jedi. Yoda looks him over and senses that it is far from the case; there is something else about him, an aura of power that far surpasses any mere Jedi. He does not reach for his lightsaber, but eyes him wearily. Yoda: You were not invited to my chambers, ancient one. Who are you? Father: Now, now, is that any way to speak to your guests? I am the Father, the first and last of my kind. I have sensed your plight, master, and you have much to learn, but you are the first in a while to truly understand that. Accepting one's ignorance is an admirable trait and is why I have decided to aid you. Yoda: Aid me? Provide help you will? Help me understand the force, you will? Father: I shall, but not here. You are right in saying this place is unsuitable for our purposes. Instead, you must find my domain in Mortis. Some among you have been to this world before; seek out the young one. Ahsoka. With that, the Father begins to vanish, leaving Yoda alone to ponder his thoughts. Ahsoka had never spoken of this place, and more importantly, she is no longer among them. If she has the answers, though, then Yoda will be sure to get them from her, no matter what it takes. Tracking her down is the easiest part. While she might no longer be a Jedi, her presence in the Force remains strong as ever, and he is pleased to see she is still on the planet, working in the lower districts. He tracks her down to a machine store where she is working to try and restore her speeder bike for her journey ahead. The young Jedi is half hidden under her bike as she tinkers with the machinery. However, it seems like things aren’t going well as Yoda hears her grunting and cursing under her breath. He approaches slowly and slides a bundle to her side. Yoda: Difficult it is to work on an empty stomach, young one. Eat. Come and join me. Ahsoka rolls herself from her bike and is surprised to see Yoda. Ahsoka: Master, I wasn’t expecting to see you, especially not here, of all places. Yoda: In the neighborhood, I was. Visiting an old friend, I am. Ahsoka: Thank you. You don’t happen to have my master with you. He might know what to do with this. Yoda: Chuckles. Cannot join us, Skywalker can, unfortunately. But here to discuss important matters, I am. Ahsoka: Ahhh, so it is just business. Alright then, what is it? Yoda: Mortis. Been there you have? What is it? #starwars #starwarswhatif #whatif #yoda #mortis #thefather
