Narrow Gauge Group Takeover West Lancs Light Railway 2026

Join me for a fantastic summer visit to the West Lancs Light Railway during the annual takeover event hosted by the Merseyside and South West Lancs Narrow Gauge Groups. Taking place on a scorching hot day in June, the railway came alive with plenty of activity, enthusiastic volunteers, and the unmistakable atmosphere that makes these events so special. The star of the day was Cybil, seen hard at work in steam as she hauled trains along the picturesque narrow-gauge line. It was wonderful to watch this historic locomotive in action against the backdrop of clear blue skies and warm sunshine, creating a perfect setting for a day dedicated to preserving and celebrating industrial railway heritage.
