These Persons Here Present @ Uncommon Ground 2026

A performance for 7 performers and a set of 7 different speakers (woofers) without their encasing. Each performer is assigned a speaker (or multiple). The speakers each have their own amplifier and software synthesizer playing through them, through an audio interface and some stacked stereo amplifiers. The piece consists of two parts: The first part where the performers walk slowly through the crowd, while there are different sudden pops heard on the different speakers of each performer. The second part consists of a choreography where each player carries a woofer that plays a note in of a chord. A musician controls the chord, incidentally picking a new note for one of the performers, slowly moving the chord. The musician also controlled some simple parameters: a tremolo, a filter and a detune parameter that slightly detuned the different voices that are spread across the woofers. By limiting the musical parameters, the performers have more control through moving the woofers. They can attenuate the sound by using distance and change its character by pointing it in a different direction.
