If the pro-Kremlin right-wing party in Poland truly hopes that a potential Russian attack will shatter the country from within, they could be brutally miscalculated. History shows that an external threat doesn't have to weaken Poles—it very often unites them. For years, Russia has been playing on chaos, fear, anti-Ukrainian sentiments, undermining NATO, inciting the West, and making their own country feel disgusted. However, in moments of real danger, most people instantly distinguish a political quarrel from a fundamental issue: the security of Poland, its families, homes, and borders. Therefore, a potential Russian aggression could have the exact opposite effect for pro-Russian groups. Instead of breaking up the community, it could glue it together. Instead of strengthening the agency of influence, it could expose it. Instead of fueling those who have been relativizing the Kremlin for years, it could put them to the wall with a simple question: whose side are you on? Because when a true threat from Moscow appears, the online antics end and the test of loyalty to the state begins. And the pro-Kremlin para-right may fail this test.
