SKYBOUND eps. Propliners ENG
PROPLINERS There are still a few piston-engined aircraft flying for revenue. These outdated planes do not have an easy time, they are used for the most marginal and dangerous lines of work. They epitomise the past glory and romanticism for the 1950s, but worn out Douglases, Boeings and Lockheeds are still being used to carry all kinds of freight, from live chicks to freshly slaughtered cattle. The planes are kept in the air with bits of wire, a lot of luck and above all with love. These planes fly in remote and beautiful areas; in South America, the Caribbean and Alaska. Flown by people who wouldn't want to trade in their plane for a hi-tech jet. These are the trucks of the sky; though outdated they are still heavily relied on and are essential to the economies of the areas they fly in.
