I embarked on my second round-the-world trip with my fourth-grade son. (June 2024) I had just returned from a round-the-world trip with my son, who was still in third grade about six months ago. The trip lasted a total of four months. I planned a route mainly focused on the Southern Hemisphere. This time, Mexico is the fourth country we've visited. From here, we switched our focus to Spanish as we began our Central American journey. The security situation deteriorates significantly, so it really felt like the real journey was beginning. This was my son's first time in a Spanish-speaking country. For me, Spanish-speaking countries were supposed to be my strong suit, but I had completely forgotten the language, and it was quite a struggle.
