Replacing EEPROM Chip On Sceptre TV
It's always better to repair something then to just throw it out and buy a new unit if you have the skills. Today I am replacing a faulty EEPROM chip on my 4 year old Sceptre 40" TV. When this chip goes bad the TV does not want to wake up from standby correctly either via IR remote or by the power button the TV itself. It's a fairly easy repair, costing $15 instead of $300 for a new TV.
