The hit combo metric works in the following way: you get a hit when you beat an opponent, but your combo is reduced to zero if you take damage or your attack is blocked. It is not that hard to beat each level in Showdown mode for Swordplay, but getting the best hit combo records is not easy and can be tedious. You can beat one enemy and your attack also be blocked by an enemy next to them, ending the run. You need to be patient and attack quickly when enemies are by themselves. To play efficiently, you should memorize the style and attacks of each swordfighter so that you can defeat them easily. They appear to attack you one by one and it is a lot easier to fight them without anybody else around. In the more difficult stages, there are many enemies near each other and fighting them without other enemies near them does not occur often.
