Gray (Timber) Wolf Den in Wisconsin
A pair of gray wolves, commonly referred to as timber wolves, raise five pups at a Wisconsin den site. Wolves are creatures of the night, nocturnal, and, for the most part, generally allow us only glimpses of them during the day. At this den site, the pups wrestle and play while often moving from one den to another. The adults sneak into the site to bring them food occasionally during the day. Offering an opportunity to see them caring for the pups.
