Douglasville, GA to Atlanta, GA - U.S. 78/278 East - Veterans Memorial Highway [4K]

This video follows U.S. 78 eastbound from the western edge of Douglasville through its downtown, Lithia Springs where U.S. 278 joins the route heading east, Austell, and Mableton before reaching I-285 on the west side of Atlanta. Through west Georgia and western Metro Atlanta, U.S. 78 serves as a parallel route to I-20 and is often used as an alternate in the event of very heavy traffic on the interstate. The route shown in this video is also part of the old Bankhead Highway -- a cross country highway that once stretched from San Diego to Washington D.C. in the early 20th century.
