Earning Every Cast — Remote Brook Trout in the Adirondacks
After a trout fishing trip invite landed directly on the first day of my fall vacation, I was eager to get into the woods to expore a new body of water, especially one that promised to hold giant brook trout. The Adirondacks can be brutal. Thick brush, wet crossings, and steep climbs aren't uncommon anywhere in these mountains. We found all of that and the trout we were looking for. A tough bushwack and portage was rewarded with some of the best fishing I've ever had in one of the most remote lakes around.
