Not Defective After All? EcoFlow Trail 300 DC Retest Exposes Design Limits, and Anker?

In my original head‑to‑head between the Anker SOLIX 300 DC and EcoFlow Trail 300 DC, the EcoFlow threw “overload” errors and wouldn’t dual‑charge, so I swapped it for a replacement and rebuilt the test bench to give it a truly fair shot. In this take two, both units are heavily discharged, I’m using multiple 140W USB‑C GaN chargers, a 100W GaN charger, and a programmable “solar” bench supply to test low/high MPPT voltage ranges and real‑world max charge rates. Key findings: EcoFlow overloads again with a known‑good 100W GaN charger (Anker handles it fine). EcoFlow’s USB+USB will not combine power; caps around ~110–116W from a single USB‑C port. EcoFlow’s USB+Solar DOES combine and settles around ~260W. Anker accepts higher power per USB‑C port (single ~130W) and truly combines USB+USB up to ~260W. Anker also combines USB+Solar to ~260W (practical ceiling). EcoFlow’s MPPT is efficient across its 10–30V range, but USB‑C charging underperforms. Now based on new testing this looks less like a defective unit and more like a design limitation.
