Spiritual Epic: Until the End of the World Through a missionary gaze toward neighbors visible through the window, a mysterious shadow that walks always alongside us though unseen, and the faithfulness of a single tree embracing the four seasons, we convey the confession of discipleship that embodies the biblical promise, "I am with you always, until the end of the age." We dedicate this video to all pilgrims who experience the companionship of 'Immanuel,' who comes as light even in the darkest moments of life, and who are advancing toward the 'City of Light,' the eternal city of hope to be found at the end of the journey through the wilderness. The story of the eleven disciples standing on the mountain in Galilee is, in fact, our story today. They doubted even as they saw the resurrected Lord right before their eyes. They wavered while worshipping, and were afraid while kneeling. The Bible does not hide this uncomfortable truth. But what is amazing is—the Lord walked toward those who doubted. He did not rebuke them. He did not turn away. He drew even closer, commensurate with the distance of their fear. And He spoke. "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go." This praise begins at that moment. The command to "go" is not a command given to a perfect person. It is a command given to those who are still wavering, to those who are still afraid, and to those who feel they are not yet ready. And at the end of that command, a promise always follows. "I will be with you always, until the end of the age." The ends of the earth spoken of in this song are not the ends of a map. The person riding the same elevator today, the family member to whom the Gospel has never been shared, the neighbor who greets with a smile but does not know each other's souls—that one person is the ends of the earth to which we must go. I composed this song while meditating on Trinity Sunday. The Father sends, the Son opens the way, and the Holy Spirit becomes the breath. He who was called Immanuel in the first chapter of the Gospel of Matthew promises once again in the final chapter—that He is with you, still and forever. It is out of a single hope that this hymn was crafted with Latin choir and baritone voices. I hoped that both the elders who have lived for a long time and the young people still seeking their way would hold onto the same promise together within this song. It is okay if the notes are not high, or if the voice trembles. For this song is not for perfect people, but for those who walk together. Go even if you have doubts. Go even if you have tears. Go even if you are not yet ready. The authorities open the way before you, and the presence pushes you from behind.
