Zirkus Sperlich in Weissenberg.flv

The first project circus in East Germany, Circus Andre Sperlich, makes a stop in Weißenberg - Preschool children from the daycare centers in Weißenberg and Wurschen, as well as students from the elementary and secondary schools, had the opportunity to experience being a performer during a circus project week organized by the Weißenberg Daycare & School Support Association with the first project circus in East Germany, led by Andre Sperlich. Unlike traveling participatory circuses, in this type of circus, the professional performers take a backseat, allowing the young stars to shine. In just two days – from Tuesday, March 23rd to Wednesday, March 24th, 2010 – children from the aforementioned Weißenberg institutions were transformed by the circus staff into acrobats, clowns, fire-eaters, fakirs, and dove or goat trainers. Rehearsals took place everywhere, in the school buildings as well as in the gymnasium. ... To give the children an idea of what they would later be performing independently, the circus family gave a free demonstration on Tuesday morning. The roles to be filled and the three performances on Friday and Saturday demanded the utmost precision and concentration.
