Etiquette in Henry VIII's Tudor Court
If courtiers were to meet King Henry VIII, here are some key things to remember: Never look him in the eye; be mindful of how you behave and dress at court. Ladies should never take their hats off, but men always should, unless they were of the highest rank. This was called 'Hat Honour', and a clear way to indicate your social rank. This clip was made as part of HISTORY's Henry Week which featured the premieres of two shows: Inside The Body of Henry VIII; and Inside The World of Henry VIII.
