I Got Robbed in Costa Rica… Here’s What Happened (Part 1 of 2)

The ride through Central America continued with plenty of unexpected challenges. This episode begins on Day 89 in Honduras, where I ship my drone ahead to San José, Costa Rica, hoping to avoid any issues at the border. Crossing Nicaragua doesn’t go quite as planned, as mechanical problems with my wheel and tires slow me down and test my patience. After finally making it to San José Costa Rica, I’m reunited with my drone and continue south toward Panama. But just when things seem to be turning around, disaster strikes. On Day 102, only about 65 miles from the Panama border, I was robbed. My most important gear taken. This is the story of one of the toughest moments of my ride from San Francisco to Argentina—a journey to raise awareness and funds for Parkinson’s disease and Lewy body dementia.
