The Truth About 6.7L Cummins Cranks and Why We Built Our Own
Power Driven True 6.7 Cummins Crankshaft In this video, we lay out exactly why Power Driven Diesel spent over two years designing and producing a true 6.7L Cummins crankshaft and why that makes a real difference in your engine build. Whether you are chasing more power, better reliability, or just want to build an engine that runs smoother and lasts longer, this is the information you need before buying your next crank. 👉 Power Driven True 6.7 Cummins Crankshaft - https://powerdriven.com/products/powe... 👉 New 6.7L Cummins OEM Engine Block (07.5-18) - https://powerdriven.com/products/new-... 👉 Power Driven 6.1L Stroker Kits For 12v Cummins 89-98 (stock to 700hp) - https://powerdriven.com/products/powe... When the crank in Ruby, our high-horsepower tow rig failed, we dug into the details. What we found was that many aftermarket “6.7L” cranks were really just reworked 5.9L designs. They are not the same. The counterweights are different. The forging marks are different. And most importantly, the strength and reliability are not there. So we did what we always do at Power Driven Diesel. We built it ourselves. Our crank is forged using custom dies. Every crank is serialized for tracking and quality control. It is balanced in-house with a full report included. These cranks are built to true OEM 6.7L Cummins specs, not a stroked 5.9. We also go into detail on: • Why does stroke make a bigger difference than bore when building for power • The weight and design differences between 5.9 and 6.7 cranks • Why counterweight mass matters more than you think • How our crank balance reduces stress on main caps and bearings • What makes our crank different from common aftermarket options This video also covers the rest of our new Cummins engine kits, including: • Stroker kits built around our forged crank with drop-in Street Fighter or billet Wagler rods • Piston options from McBee and Mahle, including Total Seal gapless ring upgrades • New 6.7L Cummins cast blocks with optional machine prep stages for serious builds Everything shown in this video is tested in our own trucks and proven at power levels from 1000 to over 1800 horsepower. If you are building a 5.9 and want it to last, or converting to a full 6.7 bottom end, this is the place to start. These are brand new parts with no core charge. No waiting on used inventory. No guessing on quality. Just the right components to get the job done. Call (435) 962-9555 if you have questions about your build.
