Quite the opposite actually. Being a minimalist has given me the freedom to create, the freedom to think and logistically - the freedom to move around easier and faster. I have tried traveling with a big suitcase once for a few months and it was horrible. My wheels broke on it almost immediately, it was a nightmare to hall around and I felt ridiculous sweating and carting the giant thing around, only to end up using just a small portion of my bags content. That drove me straight back to my minimalist ways. I'm a full time traveler, I live months on end with these items only. I only switch my clothes into the opposite season wardrobe when the weather changes and that's about every 6 months. I just weighed my bag at the airport and my check in bag is 10kgs. But I also don't compromise on style. I don't want to look bad so I've organised my possessions very specifically to ensure I look like a Queen always. It's fun. I understand the minimalist life isn't for everyone, but if this feels like something you'd like to try and live by, do it! Maybe it will turn out too hard for you, maybe you'll realise you can cull way less than me! Or maybe you'll realize this sucks and you want more of your stuff.
