Four things to consider before you backslide 1.Before you backslide ask yourself, will you find a man such as Jesus? John 6:68. Simon Peter answered, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You [alone] have the words of eternal life [you are our only hope After many followers left Jesus. Peter was asked you also follow the backsliders. What kept Peter to stick with Jesus was there is no one like Jesus. These no one who has words of life. Peter left fishing nets to follow Jesus for the words of life. During the time of John the Baptist ministry. People followed him to the wilderness for the message he preached. During the ministry of Jesus on earth. People followed to be with him because of the eternal words. These days it seems we follow Jesus primarily for many other reasons than the word of life flowing from the mouth of Jesus according to Mathew 4. Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word from the mouth of God. 2.Before you backslide pls consider the old habits and bondages coming back or you going back there. Luke 8:2. and also some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases: Mary (called Magdalene) from whom seven demons had come out Mathew 27:56. Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joseph, and the mother of Zebedee’s sons. Mary Magdalene who had seven devils did not backslide while others fled and went back to their old life style because she thought of the life of demons. Scripture says the one forgiven much will love more. Hebrews 11:15. If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return. 3.Before you backslide think of what you are going to loose. When you are backsliding there is much to loose than to gain. Scripture says what shall profit a man to gain the whole world and loose his souls. Luke 12:20. “But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself? 4.Before you backslide think about the blessings that will stop flowing towards you. Before you backslide think of the possibilities of loosing what God has given you. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO LOOSE IF YOU BACKSLIDE You loose peace of heart and mind You loose the presence of God. God told Israel that my presence shall not go with you. They lost Gods presence because of rebellion You loose the ability to hear his voice and his leading
