Highlights A documentary by director Inudo Isshin, known for "Nobou no Shiro" and others, about Nomura Mansaku, a Kyogen performer with over 90 years of experience and holder of an important intangible cultural property (living national treasure). The documentary follows Mansaku as he performs the Kyogen play "Kawakami" at a performance commemorating his receiving the Order of Culture, and includes footage of him on stage with his son Nomura Mansai and grandson Nomura Yuki, as well as an interview with Mansaku, who continues to pursue his art. An animation depicting Mansaku's past is produced by Yamamura Koji, known for "Atamayama," and narrated by actor Odagiri Joe. Synopsis Nomura Mansaku is a Kyogen performer who made his debut on stage at the age of three and is a holder of an important intangible cultural property (living national treasure) who continues to perform on stage for over 90 years. Mansaku, who received the Order of Culture in 2023, will perform the kyogen play "Kawakami," which he has been working on as his life's work, on stage with the next generation of kyogen performers, including his son Mansai and grandson Yuki, in a commemorative performance to commemorate the award.
