The Opening Of Irma Grese's Coffin - The Beautiful Beast Of Auschwitz

During the Second World War there were a number of horrific female concentration camp guards who were at the end of the conflict executed for their crimes. One of the most fearsome women to go to the hangman’s gallows was Irma Grese who was 22 years old when she was executed, and she was known as the Hyena of Auschwitz, or the Beautiful Beast. Grese was a woman who encouraged her dog to attack other prisoners and she also shot inmates who were not working hard enough. But following her execution, a dark cloud emerged in the decades after as she was actually exhumed from her grave and she was buried in other places, and the authorities opened her grave and removed her body.
