Muslim Youth Brutally Attacked by Hindutva Elements on Jalpally Road; MBT Demands Strict Action : Mohammed Mahboob (24), a native of Bhalki, Karnataka, presently residing at Wadi-e-Mustafa, Shaheen Nagar, was allegedly attacked by a group of Hindutva elements while travelling with his friend Mohammed Khalid on Jalpally Road under the limits of Pahadishareef Police Station. In the attack, Mohammed Mahboob sustained serious head injuries and suffered wounds to his mouth, teeth and eyes. Due to the severity of the assault, he fell unconscious and was immediately shifted to Osmania General Hospital, where doctors administered six stitches to his head. However, despite continuing pain and discomfort, he was discharged from the hospital. Upon reaching home, his condition deteriorated and he was subsequently admitted to Recovery Hospital, Mallapur, for further treatment. Upon learning about the incident, Amjed Ullah Khan, Spokesman of Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT), rushed to Recovery Hospital and met the victim and his family members. He expressed serious concern over the increasing incidents of attacks on Muslim youth in the Balapur and Pahadishareef areas and demanded the immediate arrest of all those involved in the assault. Mr. Khan stated that attacks on Muslim youth by Hindutva groups are occurring with alarming regularity under the limits of Balapur and Pahadishareef Police Stations. He alleged that despite repeated incidents, the police have failed to take effective preventive measures and that after every attack or even murder, efforts are made to downplay the seriousness of the crime. Mr. Khan urged Sri V C Sajjanar IPS Commissioner of Police Hyderabad to take serious note of the recurring incidents and personally conduct night visits to the vulnerable areas falling under Balapur and Pahadishareef Police Station limits. He also demanded increased police patrolling, identification of anti-social elements involved in communal violence, and strict legal action against those attempting to create fear and insecurity among minority youth. Mr. Khan warned that if such incidents continue unchecked, it could adversely affect communal harmony and law and order in the city.
