2007 Mt Lofty SA - Night and Day
Mt Lofty, at the top of the Adelaide Hills, is the highest point of the Adelaide to Melbourne line with steep grades on either side. At the time of filming, the station was still a privately operated 'bed and breakfast'. Additional locos are added to trains between Adelaide and Tailem Bend for the gruelling trip across the ranges. This video features C501 shortly after its return to service on an SCT train and an XRB (X class conversion to a booster unit).
