Louxor, les sites incontournables à ne pas rater, Égypte

The Luxor region is dotted with ancient ruins and magnificent temples erected for the great pharaohs of Egypt. The name Luxor comes from an Arabic word meaning fortification or castle (الأقصر). This name was given by the Arabs when they discovered the city, in reference to the immensity and grandeur of the ruins of the pharaonic temples and buildings. Before that, the city was known as Thebes to the Greeks and Waset to the ancient Egyptians. 00:00 Luxor intro 00:44 Hot air balloon 01:39 Temple of Hatshepsut 03:15 Habu, Temple of Remses III 06:04 Memorial/Funerary Temple of Ramesseum 06:51 Temple of Amenhotep III, The Colossi of Memnon 07:20 Karnak Temple 08:55 Luxor Temple Music credits: ----------------------- Cairo by Lucjo / cairo Creative Commons — Attribution 3.0 Unported — CC BY 3.0
