100年ぶりの畑 #2|田んぼがなくてもお米は育つ?陸稲・コーン・ピーナッツの記録
#gardening #naturalfarming #slowliving On a piece of land that is being used as a vegetable garden again for the first time in 100 years, I planted seeds of upland rice, Glass Gem corn, and peanuts. This year, I am trying to grow upland rice, a type of rice that can be cultivated without a flooded paddy field. In this video, I share the process from soil preparation and sowing seeds to their first germination. While making use of hairy vetch and clover grown as green manure, I am slowly improving the soil with the goal of natural farming. To protect the corn and peanut seeds from birds, I also made a handmade net using pruned branches and jute twine. There were a few unexpected mistakes along the way, but I was relieved to see everything sprout successfully. I hope you enjoy watching. 🌱 Chapters 00:00 🌾 Opening 00:23 🗺️ Garden Layout 01:31 🌾 Sowing Upland Rice 03:09 🌽 Preparing Soil for Glass Gem Corn 05:42 🥜 Sowing Peanuts 06:16 🪢 Building a Bird Protection Net 08:24 🌱 Germination & Ending 🌾 About This Video This garden had been left unused for many years, and is now being restored as a vegetable garden for the first time in a century. Rather than focusing on harvests this year, I would like to focus on building healthy soil first. Using fallen leaves, camellia flowers, charcoal, oilseed meal, and other organic materials, I am gradually improving the soil. I am also experimenting with upland rice, which can be grown without a traditional rice paddy. One of my goals is to make a traditional New Year's shimenawa rope from rice that I grow myself. 🌽 Plants Featured in This Video • Upland Rice • Glass Gem Corn • Peanuts • Borage • Marigolds 🍃 Highlights • Growing rice without a paddy field • Upland rice cultivation • Soil building through natural farming • Growing Glass Gem corn • Peanut cultivation • Using green manure crops • Handmade bird protection net • Restoring a century-old garden ▶ Previous Video Chapter 39 "Leaf Butterfly Wall Art" ▶ Next Video Chapter 41 "A Garden After 100 Years Part 3" 🎵 Music DOVA-SYNDROME Noru A Sketch of the Blue Sky Open Your Door
