Hello everyone, one way to increase engine power is by using porting polish to smooth the intake and exhaust ports. This ensures minimal air resistance entering the combustion chamber. This is crucial for engine upgrades. Here's a simple porting size formula: 1. For everyday use, the inlet bore diameter should be between 85% and 95% of the inlet valve size. 2. For road racing, the inlet bore diameter should be between 95% and 100% of the inlet valve size. 3. For drag racing, the inlet bore diameter should be between 100% and 110% of the inlet valve size. The exhaust port can be enlarged up to 95% of the exhaust valve size for everyday use. For road racing and drag racing, it can be up to 100% and 110%. The Vixion's 4-valve cylinder head must first be converted to a 1-valve size. The formula is: d = diameter ✓ = square root L = area r = valve radius L = (π x r²) x 2 = (3.14 x 9.5 x 9.5) x 2 = (3.14 x 90.25) x 2 = (283.385) x 2 = 566.77 mm² Now that you have the area, let's find the diameter conversion for one valve: d = (L ÷ π) x 2 = √(566.77 ÷ 3.14) x 2 = √(180.5) x 2 = 13.43 x 2 = 26.86 Rounded to 27 mm. So, the two intake valves on the Vixion are the same size as one 27mm valve. The diameter of the Vixion's intake valve is 19mm. Hope this helps...!!!
