The Mechanisms - Tales To Be Told - 2 - Iphis (Lyrics)
|This song is based on the Scottish ballad "The House Carpenter". The setting for this song is the City (UDAD). The story is based on Greek mythology, in which Iphis was born to a poor couple that could not afford the birth of a female child. After giving birth, the mother concealed Iphis sex from everyone, including the father, raising her child as a boy. As Iphis grew up, the father arranged a marriage with Ianthe. Before the marriage, first Iphis, then the mother prayed to Isis for her help, who responded by transforming Iphis into a man. In the mythology, Iphis and Ianthe live happily.| If you don't know them already, check out the Mechanisms website: https://themechanisms.com/ And buy this album on bandcamp: https://themechanisms.bandcamp.com/al...
