From Zara to DIY: I Made My Own Upcycled Jeans & Styled them for the Curio Spring Fashion Social

I started my day at Zara trying on jeans… but I left inspired to make my own! In this video, I take you behind the scenes of a full fashion transformation—starting with a trip to the fitting room and ending at a stylish Chicago Curio Spring Social Event. Watch as I upcycle two pairs of denim jeans—one straight leg and one painter’s style—to create my own oversized wide-leg jeans with major attitude. I’ll take you step-by-step through the design and sewing process so you can see exactly how I combined these pieces into something completely new and fabulous. Next, I upcycle a men’s button-down shirt by cropping the back and creating a tie detail that gives it shape and a custom fit—perfect for a spring look. Then I head to With You In Mind Resale Shop, one of my favorite local thrift spots, where I find the perfect vintage brooches to complete the outfit. Back at home, I style the full look: my new DIY wide-leg jeans, the reworked shirt, a necktie, and a mix of stunning brooches.
