Şehit Piyade Uzman Çavuş Basri Demirel son yolculuğuna uğurlandı

Infantry Sergeant Basri Demirel (29), who was injured in a terrorist attack in Idlib, Syria, and died in the hospital where he was being treated, was laid to rest in his hometown, the Pınarbaşı district of Kayseri. Infantry Sergeant Basri Demirel was injured on January 31st following a terrorist attack on the Abu Zahir railway in the de-escalation zone in Idlib, Syria. Demirel, who was being treated at Hatay Regional Hospital, could not be saved today despite doctors' best efforts and was martyred. Demirel's body was taken from the hospital morgue and flown to his hometown, Kayseri, by military aircraft. A funeral ceremony was held for Demirel at his family home in the Kızılören neighborhood of the Pınarbaşı district. Later, a funeral ceremony was held at the Kızılören cemetery. The ceremony included: Governor Şehmus Günaydın, Metropolitan Mayor Memduh Büyükılıç, AK Party Deputy Chairman Mehmet Özhaseki, AK Party Kayseri Deputy İsmail Emrah Karayel, CHP Kayseri Deputy Çetin Arık, İYİ Party Kayseri Deputy Dursun Ataş, Garrison Commander Brigadier General Aziz Adalı, district mayors, representatives of political parties, martyr Demirel's father Hacı, mother Hatice, wife Merve, three siblings and many citizens attended.
