Visión 7: Tragedia de Castelar: Un video muestra el choque de trenes

A video of the Sarmiento train line just before the collision in Castelar has been released. The footage shows train number 01 on its 1,200-meter journey from Morón station to Castelar, before colliding with train number 19 on June 13. According to operating manuals, the train driver has four ways to stop a train of this type: one is by activating the main brake; another is by applying the emergency brake; another is by releasing the "dead man's switch"; and the third is by removing the key and cutting off the power. The video shows and shows the train accelerating continuously and the driver responding to the "dead man's switch" eight times during that stretch. Less than five seconds before the impact, he responds to the "dead man's switch" for the eighth time since passing the first yellow light. Finally, noises of movement can be heard, suggesting the driver stood up. Aired on Visión 7, the news program of Argentina's Public Television, on Monday, July 1, 2013. http://www.tvpublica.com.ar
