Around the world, the declining birth rate, which has reached a historic low in recent years, is forcing politicians to take action. In Quebec, elected officials are seeking solutions to allow Quebec families to have the number of children they truly desire. The fertility rate in Quebec was projected to reach 1.36 children per woman in 2025. While this represents a slight increase compared to the historic low of 1.35 recorded in 2024, it remains far below the replacement level of 2.1 children per woman.
