Jacobite 'Highland Rising' living history event in Outlander township at Highland Museum Scotland
The 2019 'Highland Rising' living history event at Baile Gean, a 1700s township within the Scottish Highland Folk Museum, which was used to film parts of the popular Outlander series. Members of Alan Breck's Volunteer Prestonpans Regiment were present to give talks and displays, explaining the clothing, equipment and tactics used by the Jacobite forces in the early 1700s in Scotland. This group of volunteers are a battle re-enactment society founded to promote wider interest in the 1745 Jacobite Rising, and to support the work of the Prestonpans 1745 Heritage Trust. Members include both Jacobites and the Redcoats of the Edinburgh City Guard
