I'm Jo, and this is my cat Macchou 🐈✨ Today I'm making Cranachan 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🍦🫐 This is Day 2 of my world food tour — still in Scotland! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 I've actually made Cranachan once before — last time I used Greek yogurt and plant-based cream, but today I'm going all in with proper animal-based heavy cream 😊 No holding back this time! And of course, Macchou will probably come to check it, as always 🐾🐈 ----- Cranachan Mixed Berry Version 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🍦🫐 ■Serves 2–3 🍽️ Ingredients 🍽️ 🫐 Frozen mixed berries　75–100g (half a pack) 🍬 Sugar (for berries)　1 tbsp 🌾 Oatmeal　3 tbsp 🥛 Heavy cream (animal-based)　200ml 🍯 Honey　1.5–2 tbsp 🥃 Scotch whisky (Ballantine's)　1/4–1/2 tsp 👩‍🍳 Instructions 1️⃣ 🫐 Place frozen berries and sugar in a heatproof bowl. Set aside a few nice-looking berries for topping. Cover loosely with wrap and microwave at 600W for 1.5–2 minutes. Stir gently and let cool completely. 2️⃣ 🌾 Toast oatmeal in a dry pan on low heat for 3–4 minutes until golden and fragrant. Transfer to a plate immediately and let cool. 3️⃣ 🥛 Whip cream, honey, and a few drops of whisky to soft peaks (about 80% whipped). Don't add too much whisky! 4️⃣ 🎉 Layer in a clear glass: oatmeal → cream → berry sauce, repeat twice. Top with reserved berries and a sprinkle of toasted oatmeal. Done! 💡 Note The red and white contrast through the glass looks stunning on camera ✨ Start with a small amount of whisky and adjust to taste 🥃 💡 Recipe Note The quantities and steps in this recipe may be slightly different from what you see in the video.
