Thank you for being here! I hope you're having a great day I wanted to share information on Animal Aid Unlimited. Their values and mission is to “Rescue. Heal. Inspire.” As well as on their home page with their mission statement “Our mission is to rescue and treat the un-owned street animals of Udaipur who have become ill or injured, and through their rescue inspire a community to protect and defend the lives of all animals.” They are based in Udaipur city of Rajasthan in India, they are a non-profit, non- governmental organization which means they are a group founded by its citizens/members. They were founded in 2002 and have approximately 100 wonderful and compassionate people who work within AAU. Animal Aid Unlimited or AAU not only has their Veterinary hospital to treat sick/ ill homeless animals but also does emergency rescue of animal for not only dogs and cats but also for animals like cows and birds. AAU also houses sanctuary for those who have trouble finding forever homes due to the need for long term medical help. Their history started in 1994 with a family of three Americans who moved from Seattle, Washington to the small city of Udaipur, Rajasthan, their names are Jim, Erika and Claire. They fell in love with this small city, learned Hindi and saw there was no services to help these homeless animals. They hired a licensed DVM to travel to local villages in 2002 to help build a foundation for rescuing helpless, injured and homeless animals. What I speak of is only a small portion of what they started and what all those wonderful people are doing to help these innocent souls. As I did research into this organization, I had nothing but goosebumps. In our world where people take innocent life for granted and treat it like garbage, it is people like those involved in helping animals in developing countries to help push things along. I do hope you check out their website and if you are able to help them, please do. On charity navigator they are rated 49% out of 100% due to finance and has not been giving a start rating yet. Doing research on this charity and reading DVM students’ testimonies really show this organization would appreciate any and all help. These people work hard and are making a HUGE difference in these innocent animal’s lives, they are one by one making the world a better place even if it starts in a small city. I know those animals are grateful to have that second chance at life even though it is not their fault for being put in less-than-ideal life to begin with.
