இரண்டாம் வத்திக்கான் சங்கத்திற்கு முன்பு, அதாவது 1970களுக்கு முன்பு, கத்தோலிக்கர்கள் மண்டியிட்டு நாவில் மட்டுமே நற்கருணை பெற்று வந்தனர். இது 2000 ஆண்டுகளுக்கும் மேலான பாரம்பரியம். ஆனால் 1970 களில், இரண்டாம் வத்திக்கான் சங்கம் திருப்பலி (நோவஸ் ஓர்டோ) வழிபாட்டின் புதிய வழிமுறைகள் / நெறிமுறைகள அறிமுகப்படுத்தியது. அப்போது தான் கைகளில் நற்கருணை பெற அனுமதி வழங்கப்பட்டது. ஆனால் அதற்கு முன், பொதுநிலையினர் நற்கருணையை தொடுவது கூட நற்கருணைக்கு எதிரான ஒரு பெரிய நிந்தனை மற்றும் இழிவாக கருதப்பட்டது. நற்கருணைத் துகள்கள் தரையில் விழுவதைத் தடுக்கவும், நற்கருணையில் இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவின் உண்மையான பிரசனத்தின் விசுவாசம் பலவீனமடைவதைத் தடுக்கவும், முழங்கால்படியிட்டு நாவில் நற்கருணை பெறும் பாரம்பரியத்தை திரும்ப கொண்டு வர இந்த வீடியோ முயற்சிக்கிறது. Before the Second Vatican Council, that is, before 1970s, Catholics have been receiving Eucharist only on the tongue while kneeling. This has been the tradition for more that 2000 years. But only in 1970s, when Vatican II Council introduced the new form of Liturgy for Holy Mass (Novus Ordo) permission was granted to receive Eucharist in the hands. But prior to that, even touching Eucharist by lay persons was considered to be a great blasphemy and sacrilege. This video tries to reemphasize the need and importance of returning back that lost tradition of receiving Eucharist on the tongue while kneeling down to prevent dropping of Eucharistic crumbs on the floor and to prevent the weakening of Faith in the real presence of Jesus Christ in the most Holy Eucharist.
